You can find Cords Impex over at Plot No. 141A in Mangli Prasad Ka Hata, which is in the Laxmi Purwa area. It’s one of those spots that’s a bit tucked away in the back lanes, so you really have to know where you’re going to find us at 85/120. We deal with various types of cords and leather materials. The workspace is always full of spools and bundles of stuff waiting to be packed for delivery. It’s not the biggest place in the world, so things can get a little cramped when a big shipment comes in at once. We’ve been in this neighborhood for a long time, and we know most of the other business owners on the street. There’s a lot of dust and noise from the nearby shops, but that’s just life in Kanpur. We don't have a website with flashy photos or anything like that. People mostly find us through word of mouth from other traders. We spend a lot of our time checking the quality of the cords to make sure they aren't fraying or breaking. Sometimes the delivery trucks can't quite make it down the narrowest parts of the lane, so we have to carry the bundles by hand. It’s a lot of physical work, but we don't mind it much. We just open up in the morning, drink some tea, and get through the list of orders for the day.
