Arora Pipes

If you have ever been down Latouche Road, you know how wild it gets with all the hardware shops and people looking for random parts. Our shop is at 79/37-a, and it is usually a real squeeze to even get through the front door because of all the pipes we have leaning against the walls. Arora Pipes has been in this same spot for a long time, and it is a bit of a maze once you get inside. We have PVC, iron, and all sorts of plastic tubings stacked up all the way to the ceiling. Finding one specific elbow joint or a certain valve can take us a few minutes if we can't remember where we put it last. It stays pretty dark inside because the stacks of pipes block out most of the sunlight, so we use flashlights a lot. The noise from the street outside is constant—lots of horns, people arguing over prices, and the sound of metal pipes hitting the concrete. We don't have a fancy computer to track what we have; we mostly just know the stock by looking at the shelves every morning. Our hands stay dirty from the grease on the metal, and we just use old newspapers to wrap up the small stuff for the customers. It is a busy, cramped, and honest way to make a living. We don't have time for fancy talk or complicated displays. We just find the pipe you need.
