Chahuhan General Store

Chahuhan General Store is right on the Lal Bangla Main Road in Kanpur. We are at 23-1, which is conveniently near the Ibp Petrol Pump. Being close to the pump means there’s always a bit of a smell of fuel in the air and lots of cars pulling in and out. Our shop is a busy little place. We stock a variety of general items that people living in Lal Bangla might need on short notice. The Main Road is always loud, so we have to speak up a bit when talking to customers. The shop interior is packed with boxes and crates. We try to keep the front tidy, but with new stock arriving every other day, it’s a constant battle. We don’t have a big marketing plan or anything like that. We just rely on the fact that we are in a good spot where people can pull over easily. Most of our work involves weighing out goods or stacking packets of biscuits. The 208007 area is quite active, and we are glad to be a part of it. Sometimes the power goes out, and we have to use a torch to find things on the back shelves. It’s just the way it is. We keep the doors open and the stock ready for whoever needs it. It’s not a quiet job, but the constant movement on the Main Road keeps things interesting. We keep a small radio in the corner to catch the news between customers, which helps pass the time.
