Biting General Store.

Biting General Store is located at 56 Kda Road in Jajmau, Kanpur. You can find us right opposite the Durga Mandir, which is a very busy spot especially during festivals. The bells from the temple are something we hear all day long, and it becomes a part of the atmosphere here. Our shop is quite simple, just a regular storefront with enough space for the essentials. We sell things like matches, cigarettes, snacks, and small household items that people need in a hurry. The street outside is often crowded with people going to the temple or workers moving through Jajmau. We have a small bench outside where sometimes people sit for a minute to rest. Inside, the shelves are a bit mismatched, some made of wood and others of metal. We don't have a lot of fancy displays, just the items stacked up where they can be seen. The lighting is a bit dim towards the back, but we know the layout by heart. It is a family-run kind of thing, so there is usually one of us sitting behind the counter from morning until late evening. We deal with a lot of loose change and small talk throughout the day. The dust from the road comes in whenever the wind blows, so we are always wiping down the counter. It is just a plain, honest shop serving the local crowd as best as we can.
