Ankit General Store

Ankit General Store is located at Shop No 84/17 in the Fazal Ganj area of Kanpur. We are right by the Bharat Petroleum Depot. Because of the depot, there are always many big trucks and drivers moving around this area. We keep a lot of things that those workers and the local families might need. Items like cigarettes, cold drinks, tea powder, and snacks are what we sell the most of every day. It is a small shop and it can get very hot inside during the summer months in Kanpur. I mostly run the place by myself and sit on a chair near the front so I can see everyone passing by. There isn't really enough space for customers to come all the way inside and walk around, so they just stand at the counter on the pavement. It is a very simple setup. I have a small television sometimes to keep me company when the street gets slow and quiet. The road is always dusty and loud because of the heavy vehicles going in and out of the depot nearby. I have been here for a long time and I recognize the faces of the regular drivers who stop by for a cold soda. We do not have anything fancy here like big branding or special discount offers. It is just a basic store for the everyday needs of people in this part of town.
