Ahmad A. My shop is over on Jail Road in the Badarsa Kona area. It’s a busy part of town, so there is always noise from the street. I have been working out of this location for quite some time now. It’s not a very big space, so things tend to get piled up. I know where every single item is, even if it looks a bit messy to someone else. Most of the day is spent talking to people who stop in and managing the stock. I don't really do any advertising or anything like that. People just know I’m here. Sometimes I have to go out and pick up supplies myself if the delivery trucks are behind schedule. It’s a lot of physical work, lifting and carrying things, but I’m used to it. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but I never seem to find the time to get around to it. I’d rather be helping a customer or getting the inventory sorted. It’s a straightforward way to make a living. I don't have any employees, so I do the cleaning, the selling, and the paperwork all on my own. It keeps me on my toes. People from the neighborhood stop by often. We talk about how the area has changed over the years. It’s a decent place to be, right here on Jail Road, and I plan to stay as long as I can. It’s my regular routine and I like it.
