Tripathi General Store

Tripathi General Store is located over at 127/615 Vinobha Nagar, right on the Vinobha Nagar Road. We are pretty close to the Bara Devi Mandir, which means the whole area gets really crowded during festival times. Juhi Colony is a noisy place to have a shop, but you get used to the sounds after a few years. Our store is just a regular place where you can find things like soap, notebooks, or packets of biscuits. I started this place because I wanted to work for myself, and the shop has stayed pretty much the same since we first opened. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint soon, but the shelves are still sturdy and hold everything we need. We open up early and usually stay until late in the evening when the street finally gets quiet. Most of our customers are just people living in the houses nearby who forgot to buy something at the bigger market. It is nice knowing everyone's name and what they usually like to buy. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to sit in the dark for a bit with a flashlight, but that is just how things go in Kanpur. We do not have any website or anything fancy. If you need something, you just walk in and ask me. We keep a little diary for the regular accounts, though most people pay cash. It is a simple way to live.
