If you know Kanpur, you know how busy General Ganj can get. Our office, Swarnim Agro Exim Llp, is right there at 55/33. It’s a very old part of the city and the streets are always full of people and carts moving things around. It can be quite loud with all the shouting and horns, but that’s just General Ganj for you. We have been operating from this little corner for a while. The building has that old Kanpur feel to it, with narrow stairs and high ceilings. We spend our days tracking shipments and talking to suppliers. It is a lot of back and forth, and sometimes things get delayed, but we just keep at it. There’s no big shiny sign outside, just our name on the door. Inside, it’s mostly just desks piled with files and a few computers that have seen better days. We don't have air conditioning in every room, so we use coolers when the heat gets bad in May and June. It’s a hardworking atmosphere. We usually eat lunch together at our desks, talking about whatever is happening in the market that day. It is not a glamorous job, but it is honest work and we are glad to be part of the local scene here. The stairs in the building are worn down from years of people going up and down. You can see the history of the place in the walls. We don't have a fancy coffee machine, so we just get tea from the boy who walks around.
