If you find yourself in Jk Colony in the Jajmau part of Kanpur, that’s where we are. Our address is 228/5. It’s a busy industrial kind of area, and it can get a bit dusty sometimes. Skeoumorph Education Foundation is right in the thick of it. We chose this spot in Uttar Pradesh because there are so many families around here who could use a bit of extra help with learning things. Our space is filled with books and some old tables we’ve patched up over the years. It’s not a polished school building, just a practical place for people to come and learn. We spend a lot of time just talking to parents and kids from the colony. Sometimes we have more people than chairs, but we make it work somehow. Kanpur is a tough city in some ways, but the people have a lot of heart. We try to reflect that in how we run things. There is no fancy hierarchy here. Whoever is available picks up the phone or sweeps the floor. We are just a small group of people who think education is important and we are doing our best to share that with our neighbors. It’s a bit messy and loud sometimes, but it’s real. We aren't interested in being fancy; we just want the kids to have a chance to read.
