If you head over to the Mall Road in Kanpur, you’ll find us in Roland Tower at 17/5. We are up on the third floor. Being near Bara Chauraha means it is always loud outside with horns and people shouting. The elevator in this building has a mind of its own, so sometimes we just take the stairs, which is quite a workout in the summer heat. Our office at QUANTUMMECH STEELS PRIVATE LIMITED is mostly just stacks of papers and samples of steel rods and plates. We spend our hours talking to suppliers and trying to make sense of the market prices that change every other day. It’s a lot of back and forth on the phone. The air conditioner hums loudly in the corner, and we usually have the radio playing low in the background to drown out the street noise. We aren’t a big fancy firm with a receptionist. Usually, whoever is closest to the door just looks up and says hello. We’ve been in this spot for a bit, and we know the tea stall guy downstairs pretty well. Working with steel in a place like Kanpur means you’re always dealing with heat and grit. We just focus on getting the orders filled correctly. It is a straightforward business. We don't have a big philosophy or anything like that. We just show up, handle the steel trade, and go home when the sun goes down. It's what we do.
