Milkey Confectionery Llp

Our place is tucked away in Sindhi Colony, over in the Shastri Nagar area of Kanpur. If you know where S L Palace is, we are right near there at 122/477. It’s a lively neighborhood, typical for Kanpur, with lots of people and scooters moving about all the time. We make candies and sweets here under the name Milkey Confectionery. The building isn't anything special to look at from the outside, but inside we’ve got our machines and the big sugar bins. It gets quite sticky and sweet-smelling, which I guess is expected for this kind of work. We’ve got a small crew of workers who handle the boiling and the wrapping by hand sometimes. Sometimes the machines act up or a sugar delivery is late because of the Kanpur traffic, which is always a bit of a nightmare. We are an LLP, but it feels more like a small family setup than a corporation. We don't have a big marketing team or anyone fancy like that. Most of our time is spent on the floor, making sure the batches are okay and the wrappers are straight. We’ve been at this for a while now, and we just keep doing what we know. It’s loud, it’s a bit cramped with all the boxes stacked up in the corners, and we are always looking for more space. But we like being in this part of town. It feels like home.
