Kidzee

You can find us over at Plot No. 86 in the Civil Lines -2 area of Fatehgarh. It’s a neighborhood where people know each other, and we’re just one part of that local community. Being a place for little kids, it’s never really quiet here. There is always the sound of songs, crying, or just general shouting coming from the rooms. We’ve decorated the walls with a lot of colorful drawings and posters, though they tend to get a bit worn out pretty fast with so many hands touching them. Our day starts early when parents drop off their toddlers before heading to work in Farrukhabad. It’s a lot of managing small groups and making sure everyone is safe and having a bit of fun while they learn their basics. The floors are rarely completely clean because kids bring in dirt from the outside, but we do our best to keep up. We don't have a big corporate office feel; it’s much more like a busy house. The staff are mostly local women who have a lot of patience. We deal with spilled juice and lost shoes on a daily basis. It’s not a glamorous job, but it feels like we’re doing something good for the neighborhood kids. We just take things as they come and try to keep the kids happy and occupied until their parents come back to pick them up at the end of the day.
