Kachhi Jivan Adhar Nidhi Limited

Our office is located at H-213 in Ganji Khana, which is right in the Civil Lines area. We are set up care of Hem Ratan Kushwaha. It’s a central enough spot, and people don’t have much trouble finding the building once they get into the right lane. The office itself is pretty modest and functional. We have a few desks pushed together and some old filing cabinets that have been with us since the very start. There’s usually a pot of water on the side with a steel glass for anyone who’s thirsty after their walk. Civil Lines is a busy part of town, so there’s always something going on outside our window to look at. We spend our days going through paperwork and making sure the entries in our books are correct. It’s not very glamorous work, but it’s important to the people in the neighborhood who rely on us. We aren't big on using fancy computers for everything; we still like our pens and thick ledger books. Sometimes the neighbors pop in just to chat for a minute while they’re out running their daily errands. We know the families around here quite well, and they know us too. It’s a small operation, just a handful of us making sure everything stays on track and the numbers match up. The floor needs a good sweep every evening because of all the foot traffic we get during the day. We just take things as they come and try to keep our little corner running smoothly for everyone who stops by.
