Dr. Sanjeev Lal Clinic

The clinic is located at 112/21 Benajhabar Road, which is quite close to the Kanpur Cantt area. It’s a busy stretch of road, and you can usually see the rickshaws lined up outside. Dr. Sanjeev Lal has been here for a long time, and the building shows its age a little bit, but in a good way. We have a small sign out front that people look for. Inside, the floor is tiled and we try to keep it as clean as possible despite all the dust from the street. There is a small desk where we take names and a few chairs for those waiting their turn. It’s a very local kind of place where neighbors often bump into each other. We don’t have any of those electronic calling systems; we just call out the next name when the doctor is ready. The back room where the consultations happen is small but has everything needed. We keep a lot of paper records in tall stacks because that’s just how we’ve always done it. Sometimes it gets a bit warm in the summer, but we have a couple of sturdy fans that do the trick. It’s not a place for luxury, just a spot where people come when they need a checkup. We open early most days to get a head start before the Cantt traffic really picks up.
