Our spot is at 83-A/72 in Juhi, Kanpur. It’s a pretty busy neighborhood, as anyone who knows Kanpur can tell you. The Center For Initiative Of Eduencouragement And Ambition Foundation is something we put together because we saw a lot of ambition in the local kids but not always enough ways for them to use it. We aren't a big institution. We’re more like a small group of friends who decided to get organized. The building we’re in is a bit old, and the stairs are steep, but it’s our home. We spend a lot of time encouraging people to keep going with their studies. It’s tough out there, and sometimes a little bit of support makes a huge difference. We don't have a lot of fancy equipment, just some desks and a lot of paper. Sometimes we have to shout over the noise from the street, but we’re used to it by now. We try to keep things practical. If a student needs help with a specific subject, we find someone who knows it. We aren't trying to change the whole education system; we just want to help the people right here in Juhi. It’s honest work, and it keeps us on our toes. We have a lot of late nights and early mornings, but seeing a local kid succeed makes the long hours worth it.
