Down here at 36/9 Ram Mohan Khata, we’ve got Cawnpoor Cloth and Manufacturing Private Limited set up. Kanpur has always been a place where people know their way around cloth, and we are just another part of that long history in this city. Our office is tucked away in a spot that can be a bit tricky to find if you aren’t looking for the right lane. It’s a practical space, nothing too flashy or modern. We spend most of our mornings checking on the stock and making sure the production side of things is actually happening. Sometimes it feels like there is more dust than fabric, but that is just the way it goes when you are working with these materials. The team here is mostly local guys who have been in the trade for years. We don’t use any of those big management words because they don’t really mean much when you are trying to move actual goods. We just show up, do the work, and go home to our families. The neighborhood is loud and full of life, which keeps us on our toes. You can hear the sounds of the market and the traffic all day long. We keep our records in old ledgers and on one slow computer. It works for us. It’s just a regular business life in the heart of Kanpur. We don't need much more than that to stay busy every single day.
