Aditya General Store

Aditya General Store is located at 85/71 in Afeem Kothi, right near the Loha Mandi section of Kanpur. Because we are near the iron market, there are always heavy trucks and workers moving around outside. The air always feels a bit heavy with the smell of metal and diesel. Our shop is a simple spot where these workers and local residents stop in to grab whatever they forgot to buy earlier. We keep a lot of snacks, cigarettes, and basic groceries like salt and sugar. The shelves are made of old wood and they sag a bit under the weight of the cans and bottles. I spend a lot of time counting out change and writing things down in a yellow notebook. It is not the kind of place where people linger for too long because everyone is usually in a hurry to get somewhere else. The afternoon sun hits the front of the shop directly, making it pretty warm inside, so we usually sit near the back where it is cooler. We have been here for a while and have seen the neighborhood change, but the shop stays mostly the same. There is a lot of noise from the Loha Mandi side, with iron being moved and people yelling, but you get used to it after a week. It is just a regular shop doing regular business for the people working nearby.
