Raunak Foods

Raunak Foods is tucked away in Banipara Maharaj Village, which falls under the Jhinjhak Post Office area. We are very close to the Punjab National Bank, so it is easy for people to find us when they are out doing their errands. Working in the food business in a village setting like Jhinjhak means we are very connected to the local seasons and what is happening in the fields around us. Our building is a practical space where we process and pack things. It is often filled with the smell of whatever we are working on that day, which is usually quite pleasant. We have a small group of workers from the village who come in every day to help with the manual labor. It is a lot of hand-sorting and making sure the bags are tied tightly. The atmosphere is fairly relaxed, though we do have to work fast when a big order needs to go out. We see the bank employees and the farmers every day, and everyone stops to say hello. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to sit and wait for it to come back, which gives us a chance to sit outside and watch the village life go by. We are just a small part of the Jhinjhak block, doing our bit to keep things moving and providing for our families.
