We are located on the first floor at 60/43 in Naya Ganj. If you know Kanpur, you know Naya Ganj is a place where there is always something happening. It’s an old part of the city, so the streets are narrow and the buildings are built right on top of each other. Our office is up a flight of stairs that are a bit steep, so you have to be careful coming up. We handle international trade stuff, which sounds fancy, but mostly it's just a lot of paperwork and phone calls. We spend a lot of time talking to people in other cities and trying to figure out where our shipments are. The room is filled with file folders and old ledgers. We have a small window that looks out over the street, and we can see the tea stall guy from here. Sometimes we shout down to him to bring up a few cups for the staff. It’s a busy life in Kanpur Dehat. The summers are really tough here because the air doesn't move much in these old buildings. We just keep the windows open and hope for a breeze. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who have known each other for years. We do our work, deal with the transporters, and try to keep things moving. It’s a lot of coordination and hoping the trucks don't get stuck.
