Munna Lal Fragrance & Flavours

In Godampur Badoo, right near the police chowky in Makrand Nagar, you’ll find our place. We are pretty close to the Kannauj Railway Station, so you can always hear the trains coming and going. Kannauj is known for its smells, and Munna Lal Fragrance & Flavours is part of that old tradition. It’s not a modern factory. It’s more of a place where we mix things and keep the old ways going. The air around the shop always has a bit of a scent to it, sometimes rose, sometimes something earthy. We’ve been at this for a while. It’s a family thing, really. My grandfather used to work with these same materials. We don’t have a big marketing department. We just have our bottles and our barrels. The building is old, and the floors are a bit uneven, but it works for what we need. When the trains whistle, we know what time of day it is. It’s a busy little area, especially with the police station right there. Sometimes people stop by just because they caught a whiff of something nice while walking to the station. We don’t promise anything grand. We just make our fragrances and flavors like we always have. It’s a lot of manual work, pouring and checking. It’s a simple life here in Kannauj. We keep the doors open and just get on with the day’s tasks. The sun sets early over the station tracks.
