Dr J. L. Shah Clinic

Dr J. L. Shah Clinic is over in Mandhana. It’s a smaller place compared to the big city hospitals, but that suits us just fine. Life in Mandhana has its own rhythm, and we are part of that. The clinic is a simple building where we see people from the local area every day. There isn't a lot of traffic out here, so it stays relatively quiet, except for the occasional truck passing by. Inside, we have a few chairs for people to sit while they wait their turn. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, and the desk is cluttered with old registers and pens. Dr Shah is usually in the office by the time the first patient arrives. We don't have a huge staff, so we all end up doing a bit of everything, from sweeping the floor to writing out receipts. Most of the people who come in are our neighbors, so there is a lot of small talk about the weather or the crops. It’s a very down-to-earth environment where nobody puts on any acts. We just open up in the morning, do our best to help whoever walks in, and then close up when the sun goes down. It’s not a complicated life, but it’s an important one for the folks living around Mandhana. We like the quiet pace of things here and the fact that we know almost everyone who enters the clinic. It’s just how things have always been.
