Cool Ice Cream

We are located right at the Bhikaripur Tiraha, which is a big three-way junction in Bhikarepur. Being at a Tiraha means there is always a lot of traffic passing by, from tractors to small cars. Cool Ice Cream is basically a small hub for people who are traveling through the area. There’s a lot of dust from the road, so we are constantly cleaning the front of the shop. We have some plastic chairs outside for people to sit on, but they usually do not stay long because it’s so busy and noisy. The freezers hum all day long, and in the evening, the light from the shop spills out onto the dark road. We don't have a big staff, just a couple of us who take turns watching the counter. Sometimes we run out of change, and we have to go to the next shop over to ask for some. It’s a very local way of doing things. We don't have any fancy menus or posters. We just show people what we have in the freezer, and they pick what they like. The rainy season can be tough because the water pools up near the entrance, and we have to put down bricks for people to step on so they do not get their feet wet. It’s just part of life here at the junction. Most people are in a hurry to get where they are going.
