It’s a bit larger than your average corner shop, so keeping track of the inventory takes up a lot of our time. Abdul Azeez A T oversees things, and there is always something that needs fixing or moving. Since we are in the complex, we get a lot of foot traffic from people just passing through. The Old Road can get pretty jammed up with traffic, so the noise from outside is constant. We try to keep a wide variety of things, from basic grains to household plastic items. It is a bit of a puzzle trying to fit everything on the shelves without it looking like a mess. Sometimes we stay late into the night just to count the stock or clean the floors properly. We don't bother with fancy uniforms or anything like that. We just wear what is comfortable and get the work done. The customers here are practical people, so they just want to find their items and get going. We have been here long enough that we know which items sell fast and which ones just sit there collecting dust. It is hard work, but seeing the shop full of people makes it feel alright at the end of the day.
