S.M.C.Lakshmanan & Co

It’s just us here at S.M.C.Lakshmanan & Co in Pinarayi. We have been running things out of Shyju Nivas for a while now. The office isn't anything fancy, just a place where we get the paperwork done and take calls. Most days start early because the sun gets quite warm around Parappuram by noon. We usually have tea together before the real work begins. It is a quiet spot, away from the big city noise, which suits us fine. People around here know where to find us if they need something. We don't spend much time on the computer unless we have to file some forms or check emails. Usually, there is some dust on the desks from the road outside, but we don't mind it much. My desk is near the window, so I see the neighbors walking by every morning. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, so we just sit on the porch and wait it out. It is a small operation, just a handful of us keeping things moving. We’ve seen the neighborhood change over the years, more houses coming up and the roads getting paved properly. It feels good to be part of the community here. There is always a lot to do, but we take it one day at a time. It’s not a big corporate setup, just a local place where we do our bit.
