Shalimar Fashions

Shalimar Fashions is located in the Caltex area of Cannanore. Most people around here just call it the Caltex junction because of the old petrol pump that used to be the main landmark. It’s a busy part of town where several roads meet, so there is always a lot of foot traffic and vehicles passing by. Our shop is a simple place. We’ve got our name on the front, but we don't do much in the way of big advertising. Most people who come in are locals who have known us for a long time or people passing through the junction. The interior is just basic shelves and some counters. It’s a bit old-fashioned, maybe, but it works for us. We don't see the need to change things just for the sake of looking modern. We like the way things are. The rain can be quite heavy here in Cannanore, and when it pours, the sound on the roof is so loud you can hardly hear yourself talk. But it’s cozy inside when that happens. We spend our days chatting with customers and keeping the stock in order. It’s a small team of us here. We don't have a big corporate structure or anything like that. It’s just a local business in a busy part of the city. We open up in the morning and stay until the evening rush at Caltex quietens down. It's been our spot for a long time now.
