Sagar Fabrics

You can find us on Talikavu Road, which is a fairly narrow and busy street in this part of town. Our shop is packed from the floor all the way to the ceiling with rolls of fabric. There is so much cloth in here that it can sometimes feel a bit cramped, especially when there are a few customers inside at once. We spend most of our day measuring out lengths of material and cutting them for people. Our scissors are used so much that we have to get them sharpened all the time. It is a family-run business, and you will usually find one of us behind the counter or tucked away in the back sorting through new arrivals. We don't have any fancy displays or mannequins; we just stack the fabrics so that people can feel the texture for themselves. The shop can get quite warm in the afternoons, so we usually have the door wide open to catch whatever breeze comes down the street. We’ve been on Talikavu Road for a lot of years now, and we know pretty much all the other shop owners nearby. We often share a cup of coffee and talk about how the day is going. It isn't a complicated life, and we don't do any big advertising. People in the neighborhood know where we are, and they come to us when they need a bit of cloth for something.
