Sabari Textile

Sabari Textile is based at number 49 Raja Gounder Thottam, which is part of the N.G.O. Colony on the 1st Main Street. We are a small textile operation and we’ve been in this spot for a good long time. Being in the N.G.O. Colony means we are in a bit of a quieter area compared to the main market, but we still keep very busy. We work with various types of fabrics and you can usually hear the sound of the machines if you walk past our building. The inside of the place is always full of color from the different threads and cloths we have piled up. We aren't a high-fashion brand with a big storefront. We are more about the actual work of making and moving textiles. Most of our staff live nearby and have been with us since we started. We start our day with a bit of cleaning and then get straight into the orders. Sometimes the dye smells can be a bit strong, but we’re used to it by now. We focus on the daily tasks and making sure the fabric is right before it goes out. There’s a small tea stall at the corner of the street where we usually take our breaks. It’s a modest way to run a business, but it works for us. We just take it one day at a time and keep the looms running.
