Private Hospital

The hospital here in Thana has been around for a while now. Most people know the building because it sits right where the main road curves. It isn't a very fancy place, just a regular hospital where we try to keep things moving. I started working here a few years ago and the walls were a different color then. Now they are a sort of off-white. We have some benches out front where people sit when it gets crowded inside. The fans hum pretty loudly in the afternoons. Sometimes the traffic outside makes it hard to hear, but we get used to it. The nurses mostly live nearby so they walk to work. We have a small desk near the entrance where everyone signs in. It's a bit of a mess with papers sometimes. We don't have those big electronic boards like the city hospitals do. Just some posters taped to the glass about washing hands and stuff like that. On Mondays, it gets really busy and the hallway feels a bit small. We just do the work and go home. There is a tea stall right around the corner where most of the staff goes for a break. The tea there is quite strong. We see a lot of familiar faces from the neighborhood. It’s just a normal part of life here in Thana. We don't really change much, just keep the floors clean and wait for the next person to come through the door.
