Dhanalakshmi Weaving Works

We’ve been running Dhanalakshmi Weaving Works for quite some time now. Our main thing is working with cotton, turning it into fabrics and then into finished items or clothes. It’s a lot of steps and the looms can be pretty loud when they’re all running at once. We handle everything from the initial weaving to getting the goods ready for export. It’s a lot of physical work, moving heavy rolls of cloth around and making sure the machines are running smooth. We aren’t a big fancy company with a lot of layers. Usually, you’ll find us right there on the floor checking the thread or making sure the colors came out right in the wash. We make a lot of basic cotton goods that people use every day. The air always smells a bit like raw cotton and machine oil, which is just how a weaving place is. We have a small group of workers who have been with us for years, and they know the machines better than anyone. We don't spend much time on marketing or anything like that. Most of our work comes from long-standing relationships with people who need reliable cotton fabrics. It’s a steady life, just keeping the looms going and making sure the orders are packed up properly for the trucks. We’re just a practical bunch doing what we know how to do best and we've been at it for years.
