P.C.K Boards

P.C.K Boards is located on Court Road in Kannur. It’s a busy street, especially when the courts are in session. We are right in the heart of the district. The smell of wood is something you get used to very quickly when you work here. We have stacks of boards piled up in the back. Kannur gets a lot of rain, so we have to be very careful to keep everything dry. Sometimes the roof leaks a little and we have to scramble to move things around. It’s an old-fashioned kind of business. We know many of our customers by name because they’ve been coming to us for their building materials for years. My father started things here, and we just keep it going. We don’t have a big marketing budget or a fancy sign. The shop is a bit dark inside, but we have good lights over the counter where we do the math. We use a lot of pencils and paper to figure out the costs. It’s a quiet life for the most part, except for the sound of the saws now and then. We take our time with each person who walks in. There’s no rush. We just want to make sure they get what they need for their carpentry work. It’s a simple trade, but it’s been our family’s livelihood for a long time. We plan to stay right here on Court Road for many more years.
