Pbm Polytex,Captive Power Plant

Our location is at Sreela Sadanam in the Kannur district of Kerala. We’re working with the Pbm Polytex captive power plant side of things. It's a very specific kind of place to be. Down here in Kerala, the greenery is everywhere, but we spend most of our time around the machinery and the plant equipment. It’s a bit of a trek to get out here, but this is where the work is. The air is often heavy with rain, especially during the monsoon season. We have to keep a close eye on everything when the storms come in. We don't wear fancy suits or anything like that because the work is practical and can get a bit messy. We also have to deal with the bugs and the humidity, but that's just Kerala for you. You get used to it after the first few months. The plant stays busy round the clock. Our team is small, and we’ve mostly all grown up in this part of the country. We don't have big meetings about goals or visions. We just focus on keeping the power running and fixing things when they break. It’s a lot of manual work and checking gauges. The office part is just a small room with a few chairs and a table where we keep our logs. We take our breaks together and usually talk about the local news. It’s a simple life and a simple way of working.
