This office is basically a house called Cherukattuparambil in the Iritty area of Kannur. It’s located in Madathil. Working out of a house makes things a lot more informal. We’ve got our desks set up in the main rooms and the kitchen is always there for a tea break. Being in a place like Iritty means we are close to the people we work with. It’s not like those big city offices where nobody knows your name. We’ve been here for years and the community knows us well. Most of our day is spent talking to contractors or checking on things in the local area. The weather in Kannur can be quite heavy during the monsoon, so we have plenty of days where we’re just stuck inside catching up on paperwork. It’s a quiet way to work, away from the big city noise. We don't have a lot of fancy furniture, just what we need to get through the day. We focus on our projects across the district and try to keep everything running smooth. It’s an honest way to make a living and we appreciate the pace of life here. Everyone knows where the house is, so people just drop by when they need to discuss something. It’s just us doing our work in a place we know well. We don't need much else besides our files and some good weather to get out to the sites. We enjoy being part of this Kerala landscape.
