Our small business, New Oxford Tea, is based at 287H in Chamundikunnu, which is part of Rajapuram. We have been working with tea for a long time now, and it’s something we really know well. The shop is tucked away a bit, so you have to look for the 287H mark to find us. Chamundikunnu is a peaceful place, and the air always feels a bit different here because of all the greenery. Every morning we start early to get the tea ready. It involves a lot of lifting heavy bags and making sure the leaves are stored properly so they don’t lose their flavor. We don't have any big marketing teams or fancy packaging. It’s just us putting the tea into bags and making sure it gets to the people who want it. Sometimes the rains in Rajapuram make things a bit slow, especially when we are trying to transport stuff, but we’ve learned to live with it. The building we work in is quite old and has that specific smell of dried tea leaves that never really goes away. We don't try to make the place look like a modern cafe. It’s a working space first and foremost. Most of our customers are locals who have been buying from us for years. We just keep doing what we do, day after day, and it seems to work out for everyone. It’s a simple life here in Chamundikunnu, where the work is steady and the tea is always fresh.
