Maya Stickers

Down here at Padoli House in Cheriamoola Karivellur, things stay pretty busy with all the cutting and peeling. Maya Stickers isn’t a big factory or anything like that. It’s just a workspace where we spend our hours messing around with vinyl and designs. Usually, the floor is covered in small scraps of paper by noon. People from around Karivellur drop by when they need something labeled or a bit of decoration for their bikes or shops. We don’t have a big front desk or a receptionist. Usually, whoever isn't holding a pair of scissors is the one who says hello. It gets hot in the afternoons, so we keep the windows open, and you can hear the sounds from the street while we work. It’s honest work, and it keeps our hands busy. Sometimes a job takes longer than we thought because the machine acts up, but we always figure it out eventually. Living and working in this part of Kerala means we know most of the faces that walk through the door. We don't spend money on fancy ads because people just know where Padoli House is. It’s just us, the stickers, and the daily grind of making sure things look right before they leave the shop. We’ve been at this for a bit, and the routine feels right. It is not always perfect, but we get the orders done one by one.
