Juice Shack

The Juice Shack is our little spot on Kurakkanni Cliff. We are right by the helipad and not far from Mother Place. It’s a great location because of the view, but the wind can be a bit much sometimes. We have to weigh down our napkins with rocks so they don't blow away. We mostly make fresh juices. We have a couple of old blenders that have seen a lot of use. They are pretty loud, so it’s hard to have a conversation when they are running. We don't have a proper building, just a sturdy wooden shack with a tin roof. When it rains, the sound on the roof is deafening. We have a few benches outside where people can sit and watch the ocean. We get a lot of tourists, but we also have local regulars who come for their morning juice. We don’t have a fancy menu. We just see what fruit is good at the market that morning and that’s what we sell. Sometimes we run out of water and have to wait for the tank truck to come up the narrow road. It’s a very laid-back way to run a business. We don't have a boss looking over our shoulders. We just show up, cut the fruit, and serve the people. It’s a bit messy and sticky, but we like it. Life here is slow and we wouldn't change it.
