B S Ginger

B S Ginger is located at number 66 on Calicut Road in Mananthavady. If you know the area, you know how busy this road gets with trucks and buses going back and forth. We deal specifically with ginger. It arrives here in big sacks, often still covered in a bit of soil from the fields. We spend a lot of our time sorting through it. We sit on low stools and check every piece. It’s hard work on the back, but it has to be done. The smell of fresh ginger is very strong in our warehouse. It’s a sharp, clean scent that you get used to after a few days. We have a small office space near the front where we keep our records. It’s mostly just one person sitting there with a ledger and a phone. We don't have a website or anything like that. Most people just call us or show up at the door. We’ve been on Calicut Road for years. Sometimes the rain in Mananthavady is so heavy we have to stop work for a bit because the sound on the tin roof is too loud. We just wait it out and start again.
