We’ve been here at 569 on MG Road for quite a bit now. Andikkadavu is a small enough place where you get to know the faces passing by. I’m usually behind the counter most mornings when the sun is just starting to get warm. People come into Asraf Stores for all sorts of things, maybe some small stuff they forgot at the bigger shops. It isn't a fancy place, just a regular shop where we keep things on the shelves and hope the fans don't stop working when it gets really humid. Being on MG Road means there is always some noise from the traffic outside, bikes and the occasional bus rumbling past our door. Sometimes the rain comes down so hard you can't hear yourself think, but we stay open anyway. We don't have a big sign or anything flashy. Just the name on the front. I spend a lot of time organizing things, moving boxes around, and talking to the delivery guys who stop by. It’s a quiet life in a way, even with the cars. We see the same neighbors every day, and they know where to find us. Number 569 is easy to spot if you’re looking. Nothing much changes around here, which is fine by me. We just keep the doors open and do what needs doing until it's time to head home. It's just a local shop, nothing more, nothing less. We don't have any big goals. Just selling things.
