We are located near the Kambil Mayyil Post Office in Narath. Ashoka Fashion Handlooms is easy to find if you know where the post office is. It's a busy little corner of Narath. We spend most of our hours inside the shop. The mail comes by every day and we see the postman doing his rounds. It feels like a small community here. Working with handlooms takes a lot of time. You have to be patient. We don't rush things because that is when mistakes happen. The space we have is filled with the smell of yarn and old wood. Some days are busier than others. When it rains, the sound on the roof is so loud we can hardly hear each other talk. We just keep working. Ashoka Fashion Handlooms isn't some big corporate office. It is just a workspace where we get things done. We have a few benches for sitting and some old shelves. Narath has changed a bit over the years but our spot near the Kambil Mayyil Post Office stays pretty much the same. We know the neighbors and they know us. If you walk past, you might see us moving boxes or checking the looms. It is straightforward work. We don't have a big sign or anything flashy. Just the name on the front and the work going on inside. That is plenty for us. There is always something to do with the threads.
