If you go down to No 84 Vellalar Colony in Ramavarmapuram, you will see our sign for Opv Builders Private Limited. We have been working around Nagercoil and the rest of Kanyakumari for a while now. The office is usually a bit of a mess with blueprints and tea cups everywhere. Building things is hard work and it takes a lot of time. We spend half the day on the phone with suppliers and the other half driving out to see how the houses are coming along. Some days the rain stops everything, and we just have to sit and wait. It can be frustrating but that is just life here. We aren’t a huge corporation with fancy suits. Most of the time we are in old shirts and boots. We just focus on getting the walls up and making sure the roof doesn't leak. People in the neighborhood know us. They stop by to chat or complain about the noise sometimes. We try to be quiet but machines are loud. It’s just us and a few workers trying to make a living. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. Most people hear about us from their neighbors or just seeing our trucks around. We just keep our heads down and keep working. Sometimes things go wrong, a pipe breaks or a delivery is late, and we have to scramble. That’s just part of the job.
