Nanjil Apparel Private Limited is situated down in Kanyakumari. Our address is NO.11/47-2 in North Peyodu, which is part of Azhagiyapandiyapuram. It’s a bit of a mouthful to say, but it’s a nice enough place to work. It’s a bit quieter down here than in the big industrial hubs, which we actually prefer. We have a small factory setup where we put together various types of apparel. It isn't a high-tech facility with robots or anything. It’s mostly just people sitting at benches with their machines and a lot of bright lights overhead so we can see what we are doing. We have a routine that hasn't changed much over the years. We show up early, get the machines oiled, and start through the daily pile. We don't have any big mission statements or corporate slogans painted on the walls. Mostly we just have calendars and maybe a few photos of our families. The work is steady and it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. Sometimes we have to stay late if a shipment is running behind, but usually, we are out by the evening. The air smells a bit like new fabric and machine oil most of the time. We are just a local bunch of workers trying to do a good job so we can keep the lights on and the business running for another year.
