Malar Penkal Nidhi Limited

We are located at 16/22F in Kaliyancadu, which is near Chungankadai in the Kanyakumari district. Our name, Malar Penkal, suggests we work a lot with the local women in the area, helping them save up their money through the Nidhi system. It’s a very local atmosphere here. People come in after doing their household chores or finishing work in the nearby fields. The office is tucked away in a spot that feels more like a home than a bank. We have some wooden desks and a lot of files piled up. Kanyakumari is a beautiful place, but life can be tough, so having a place to put away a few rupees every week helps a lot of families. We don’t do any flashy marketing. Most of our members are neighbors or friends of people who already save with us. It’s built on knowing people for a long time. When someone comes in, we usually know their family history and why they are saving, maybe for a daughter's marriage or to buy some land later on. The work is steady and repetitive, but we like the routine of it. We keep the fans running and sometimes share some tea when it’s not too busy. It’s just a small-town office doing its part for the local community without making a big deal out of it. We stay open during the regular hours and handle whatever comes our way without any fancy talk.
