We are based out of Mankadu, right near the Sahaya Matha School. If you know the Arudesam area, you probably know where the Vavarai junction is. Our building is called Anugraha and it's where Itsben Clothing And Apparels Private Limited runs from. Most of us live close by so we just walk or take a cycle to get here in the mornings. It’s a quiet spot compared to the bigger towns. Inside, you’ll mostly hear the sound of the sewing machines going all afternoon. We don’t have a big reception area or anything like that. It is just a place with lots of tables for cutting and folding clothes. We keep the windows open when the weather is nice, though sometimes the dust from the road comes in. Dealing with the Kanyakumari heat is part of the job. We have our routines, like how we pile the finished pieces near the door for the truck to pick up. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to wait a bit, but we just use that time to organize the thread spools. We’ve got a mix of young and old workers here who have been doing this for years. It’s not a high-pressure corporate office, just a workspace where we get the sewing done. We’ve been here at 6/6 Anugraha for a bit now, and the neighbors are used to the noise of the deliveries. It’s just our daily life in this corner of Tamil Nadu. We try to finish up by six so everyone can get home for dinner.
