DHASON NIDHI LIMITED

Down in the Kanyakumari district, you’ll find Dhason Nidhi Limited at No: 6/13D in Kattuvilai. It’s in the Agastheeswaram post area. This part of the country is quite beautiful, but we mostly see the inside of our office. It’s a small, practical space where we handle the daily operations of the Nidhi fund. We aren’t located in a big town center, so it’s a bit more peaceful here than in the cities. Our members are local people from the surrounding villages and the Agastheeswaram area. They come in on their bicycles or motorbikes to settle their accounts. We have a couple of desks, a lot of folders, and a safe for the important documents. The work is mostly about keeping good records and making sure everyone is happy with their transactions. We have a small window that looks out towards the road, and we see the local buses go by every hour. It’s a quiet life, but it keeps us busy. We don’t have a big staff, just a few of us who know the routine inside out. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, and we just wait it out or work by the light from the door. It’s just how things are in a rural spot. We keep the books in order and wait for the next person to drop by. We make sure every entry is done right before we close for the day.
