It’s a quiet enough spot, though the sound of sanding and cutting fills up the workshop pretty quickly once we get going. We get all sorts of shells brought in, and then we sit down and figure out what to do with them. It’s detailed work, and your hands get pretty tired after a few hours of it. We don't have a fancy showroom. Most of the space is just taken up by baskets of raw shells and the benches where we work. My cousin helps out sometimes when we have a lot of pieces to finish. The dust from the shells gets everywhere, so we’re always sweeping up. It’s just how it is. Being near the Post Office makes it easy for us to send things out when they’re ready. We’ve lived in Agasteeswaram for a long time, so most people know what we do at Apn Shells Craft. We don’t try to be anything we’re not. We just make the crafts and hope people like the way they look. Sometimes a shell breaks while we’re working on it, and that’s a bit of a waste, but you just pick up another one and keep going. It’s steady work and keeps us busy. We don't really have a big team, just a few of us here.
