Sri Priya Masale

You can find us over at Plot No 1165 in the Bijauli Industrial Area. We are quite close to the Central Bank of Hasari, which is where we go whenever we need to handle the paperwork or cash. The industrial area is a busy place, lots of trucks and noise all day long. We have been working out of this unit for some time now, focusing on our masale. It’s a practical space, meant for work rather than looking pretty. We have our grinding machines and the packing tables set up in a way that makes sense for us, even if it looks a bit messy to an outsider. The heat in the afternoon can get pretty intense inside the shed, so we try to get the heavy lifting done early in the day. We don’t use any fancy words to describe what we do. We just take the raw spices, process them, and put them into packets. Sometimes the power goes out, which is a bit of a headache, but that’s just life in an industrial zone. Most of the people working here live nearby, so we’ve become a bit of a tight group. We drink tea together during the breaks and talk about the local news. It’s a straightforward life. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to provide decent spices to the people who buy from us. That is basically our day-to-day routine here in Bijauli.
