Pooja Mini Modern Rice Mill

Over here on Nadiha Road, things can get pretty loud when the machines are running. Pooja Mini Modern Rice Mill is tucked away in Shanti Nagar, which is part of the Uttaripura area in Bilhaur. It’s a small mill, but we stay busy. Farmers bring their paddy in, and we process it right here. The smell of fresh rice is always in the air, which I actually quite like. There is always a layer of fine dust on everything, no matter how much we sweep. That’s just part of working in a rice mill. We have a few machines that do the husking and cleaning. Sometimes they break down, and we have to spend the afternoon fixing them with greasy hands. It’s not a glamorous job, but it is necessary for the people around Bilhaur. My family and a couple of helpers run the whole show. We don’t have a big marketing plan or anything like that. People just know we are here on Nadiha Road. They bring their carts or small trucks, and we get to work. During harvest time, we are here until late at night. The lights in Shanti Nagar are dim, but our mill stays bright until the last bag is done. It’s just how life goes in a place like this. We focus on the grain and making sure the machines keep turning. It’s simple, hard work, and we are fine with that.
