Atalprakash Jankalyan Foundation

Our foundation, Atalprakash Jankalyan Foundation, is based out of Mohalla Sarafan in Kannauj. We are located at Dwij Prakash’s place. Kannauj is where we live and work, and we are just focused on our local efforts here in the community. It is a traditional kind of neighborhood, and we like being part of it. We do not have a big glass building or a receptionist. If you come by, you will probably just find one of us sitting at a desk or out talking to people in the Mohalla. Things move at a bit of a slower pace here in Uttar Pradesh, and we do not mind that at all. It gives us time to actually listen to what people need. We aren't doing this for fame or to get rich. It is just something that felt necessary to do for our town. Dwij has been kind enough to let us use his space, so we keep things organized as best as we can. Some days are slower than others. We do not use fancy words to describe what we do. We just help out where we can. Whether it is helping a neighbor with paperwork or organizing a small local event, we stay busy. Living and working in Kannauj means we are part of the daily life here. It is a practical way to run a foundation. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing every day without much fuss.
