Thampurans Kitchen

We’ve been here on W Gate Road for a while now. Thampurans Kitchen isn't anything fancy, just a place where we cook. Vaikom is a quiet spot, and we fit right in. Most days it’s just us getting the stove going early. People ask how we do things, but there isn't really a secret to it. We just buy what we need from the local market and get to work. It gets hot in the kitchen, especially in the afternoons. Sometimes we run out of things if it's busy, but that's just how it goes. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who know the recipes by heart. It’s hard work, standing on your feet all day, but we are used to it by now. The road outside can get noisy with the temple traffic, but inside we just focus on the pots and pans. We don't spend much time on decorations or anything like that. The focus is just the food we make every day. If you walk past, you’ll probably smell whatever is on the burner. We’ve known the neighbors for years, and they stop by to chat. It’s a simple life here in Vaikom. We aren't trying to change the world, just keeping the kitchen running and making sure the food is ready on time. That's about all there is to it. No big speeches or fancy signs, just Thampurans Kitchen doing what we do every single day.
