Hotel White Gate Residency

Running the Hotel White Gate Residency here in Valiyakavala keeps us on our toes. It’s not a massive place, but there is always something that needs doing, whether it’s a leaky tap or a guest checking in late at night. The lobby is where we spend most of our time, greeting people and handing out keys. Valiyakavala is a busy enough area, so we get a good mix of travelers and people just passing through for work. We try to keep the rooms clean and the beds comfortable, which is really what most people are looking for anyway. We don't have a lot of fancy extras that nobody uses. It’s just a straightforward place to stay. The kitchen staff is usually busy from early morning getting breakfast ready, and you can smell the coffee throughout the halls. We’ve been here for several years now and we know many of the neighbors. Sometimes the power goes out or the internet acts up, and we have to scramble to get it sorted, but that’s just part of running a hotel. We don't use a lot of big words to describe what we do. We just provide a room and a bit of help with directions if someone needs it. It’s a family-run kind of feel even on the busy days. We just hope people have a quiet night and a good start to their morning.
