We’ve got our shop set up right near the bus stand in Kangra. It’s a great spot because there’s always someone hopping off a bus looking for something to take home. Kangra is a beautiful place, though the weather can be a bit unpredictable with the rain and the cold winds coming off the mountains. We deal in spices, so the shop always has that strong, sharp smell that stays in your clothes. We spend a lot of our time weighing out portions and chatting with the drivers and passengers who stop in. It’s not a big operation, just a few of us making sure the jars stay full and the floor stays swept. The bus stand area is always noisy with engines and people shouting for their stops, but it keeps the energy up. We don’t have a website or any of that fancy stuff; we just rely on people seeing us when they travel through. Sometimes the shipments arrive late because of the mountain roads, but we just manage with what we have on the shelves. It’s a simple way to make a living. We’ve been here for a good while, and the locals know us by name. We just try to provide what people need without any extra fluff or expensive packaging. It’s just us, the spices, and the Kangra air. We like the busy atmosphere and the fact that we can help people find the right ingredients for their cooking.
